A Brooklyn transplant to Denver in 2024, Natalie holds an MSc in Animal Behavior and Welfare from University of Pennsylvania Penn Vet, is a certified behavior consultant (CDBC) with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, a member of the Animal Behavior Society, and Fear Free Shelter Certified. As the CEO and founder of the dog behavior and welfare company The Scallywag Dog since February 2020, Natalie has helped hundreds of dogs and their guardians across the country with a specialization in easing maladaptive behaviors of aggression, reactivity, anxiety and arousal.
Natalie was hand picked as the teaching assistant for Dr. James Serpell for the “Animals & Society” graduate course and continued her passion for teaching as a mentor for graduate students in the masters program at Penn Vet. Before working with animals, Natalie was a working actor, singer, dancer and director in NYC since 2012. Combining animals, culture, and the arts together into one career path, Natalie launched pilot research downloaded over 300 times in 15 countries on how cinematic storytelling has the potential to positively impact misunderstood animals in society.
When not working with animals, Natalie can be found rock climbing, training for marathons, and living the good life with her one-eyed pup Pearl and her bearded dragon Irwin.
